2017: our year in review

wow, another year has come and gone!  here's our annual year-in-review post.  i absolutely love putting these massive posts together every year because it is such a neat way to reflect back on the year.  looking back over the past year, so much has happened in twelve months.  here are our highlights from 2017 . . .

in january, we rang in the new year with our families and celebrated five years with leko.  i turned 32 and we celebrated my birthday with dinner and a family birthday party.  we both worked the national tour of jersey boys the musical when it came to town, and leko fell in love with our sink colander.  we took a day trip to columbia, pennsylvania to visit the turkey hill experience too.

in february, leko looked for his shadow on groundhog day and we threw a little super bowl party just for us.  we got a big snow storm, ryan went to a technology conference in the town of hershey, pennsylvania, and we admired the broadway-themed ice carvings at the clarks summit ice festival.  i shared a few tips for fighting winter blues and then it actually turned warm enough for us to get our bikes out for a ride!

in march, we got hammered by a crazy blizzard that left us with over 2 feet of snow!  we saw the national tour of cinderella when it came to town and celebrated the first day of spring with free rita's ice even though it was cold outside.  we celebrated ryan's mom's birthday, received a sweet mail surprise from ryan's aunt sandy, and survived another show season.

in april, we saw the ringling bros. and barnum & bailey circus perform.  we spent the long easter holiday weekend in walt disney world visiting the magic kingdom, hollywood studios, and epcot.  we ate a ton of great food while we were in disney and made a little video of our trip.  we took a quick trip to nyc to see the cherry blossom trees and the spring flowers blooming at the brooklyn botanic garden too.  we saw a local ice hockey game and admired the tulips blooming outside my office window at work.

in may, we both worked the national tour of pippin when it came to town and i participated in a pippin dance workshop.  we celebrated mother's day with our families and my parents and i explored ice lake.  we enjoyed the azaleas and other flowers in bloom in our back yard.  over memorial day weekend, my parents and i visited historic millbrook village and quiet valley historical farm too.

in june, we took advantage of the nice weather and worked on several projects around our house including building a raised garden bed for veggies and herbs.  we both worked the dierks bentley concert tour when it came to town.  i was featured on local tv to promote my dance studio's annual recital and i performed in the recital and shared several recital memories and dress rehearsal photos too.  we celebrated father's day and ryan's dad's birthday, and we finally captured pictures of the nutty acrobatic squirrel who lives in our yard.  we finished out the month of june with a sunday afternoon date at a local minor-league baseball game and a much-needed hair cut to kick off summer.

in july, we celebrated the fourth of july with our families with a cookout and fireworks.  we spent an afternoon in downtown easton and we went to knoebels amusement park.  we went biking on a new trail and picked strawberries.  we both worked back-to-back concerts, i worked all of camp bisco, and then worked some more concerts.

in august, we celebrated our seven year anniversary by going on a cruise to bermuda aboard the celebrity summit with our families.  we worked the peach music festival and celebrated ryan's 33rd birthday.  i took a trip to nyc with my parents to see the broadway musical bandstand and to walk over the brooklyn bridge.  we went to the west end fair with my mom, celebrated ryan's birthday with a fiesta-style party with our families, and went to the harford fair.

in september, we celebrated labor day weekend by going to la festa italiana with our families.  we enjoyed the nice weather on labor day by exploring salt springs state park.  we worked our last summer concert of the season, and leko turned six years old!  we went apple picking with our parents and made our annual visit to roba family farm too.  we welcomed the start of autumn by going to the bloomsburg fair.  i visited our town's local trolley museum with my parents and rode an authentic trolley for an excursion too.

in october, i became an official member of the stage hands union and celebrated my blog's 6th birthday.  we visited the paper caves in honesdale, worked the national tour of a gentleman's guide to love and murder when it came to town, and visited ritter's cider mill.  we got lasik eye surgerycarved and painted our pumpkins for halloween, and enjoyed trick-or-treat at our house on halloween night.
