this month our fur baby turns 15 years old. gosh, he was so small when we first brought him home.
leko was resting recently and had his tail curled so cute around his leg that it looked like a furry ankle bracelet. i love the moments when he is quiet for a few minutes and not screaming at us!

leko is very vocal and spends most of his time yelling at us. so i couldn't resist snapping a photo of him in a rare moment when he was quiet and resting in my lap.

last week was such an incredibly tough week. we were challenged with a major unexpected event which gave us whiplash. all we want to do is hide under a pink fleece blanket like leko does.
life is so insane, unpredictable, unfair, and bizarre. we're going to need a moment to navigate through this chapter.
give grace to those around you because you never know what battles they are fighting.

it has been way too cold lately. it was cute when i pulled the laundry load of towels out of the dryer and dumped them on the bed because leko curled right up to one of the warm towels. poor guy!

yesterday marked 14 years since we adopted leko!!! our hearts always burst on january 4th since it marks the day we brought our little fur baby home and we love him so much! of course, he's going to be spoiled all week with extra kisses and tuna!
we have had this stuffed orange cat since we started dating in 2004 and i can't believe this thing is over 20 years old now. we bought it in nyc and we've loved it ever since. it was ironic that 6 years after buying it we adopted leko who looks just like it.
noah lovingly calls it "baby leko" since it looks just like leko. it usually hangs out in our bedroom and recently i was able to snap a picture of the rare occasion when leko was co-existing with it.

the whole house bows down and worships his royal highness, sir leko, who truly does believe the entire universe revolves around him, and who has the least amount of patience of any cat in the world.
we put noah in the tub the other night for his bath and in jumped leko to join! i removed leko, turned around, and he jumped right back in! what a nut.
noah thought this was all hysterical.
when it gets chilly we find leko tucked under blankets and bedding for naps. sometimes he forgets to bring his whole body in and we find the tail randomly sticking out around the place!

i don't get to have as many leko cuddles as i would like or as i used to because a certain 2 year old is always pulling me in a million different directions. so, whenever i get a moment to cuddle leko i happily take it!

noah doesn't sit . . . he doesn't. we're desparately trying to teach him the art of just sitting down and relaxing, but he's having no part of it.
we've tried to lure him on the couch with fun things on tv and blankets and a cat . . . but it lasts just moments before he escapes.
