scholastic superstars

on wednesday evening, our area's local newspaper honored the best and the brightest high school graduates at our theatre for their annual scholastic superstars awards ceremony.  the 25 winners had impressive bios for sure, and they were among the top 1% of graduating seniors in our area.  you can read more about the event here.

hello, flowers!

it's so nice to finally see flowers blooming around our yard again!  the warmer temperatures have made everything bloom.  it's so nice to see all of the colors!

lighting up the stage

dance recital season started with shows that are being filmed.  once we get into the month of june, then we'll be back to traditional recitals with full live audiences.  last week we filmed several different shows back-to-back for a local dance studio and ryan did the lighting.  i didn't get to take many photos, but i did snap a few to remember some of his cool lighting looks.

katie and travis are married!

our dear friends (and neighbors) katie and travis got married on saturday, and we were absolutely elated to be invited to share their special day with them.  we love them both so much and they are such a great couple.  (honestly, they've been together for so long that i often would forget that they weren't married!)

their wedding ceremony was at a beautiful church and i absolutely had tears in my eyes as katie walked down the aisle.  she was positively gorgeous and her gown was perfect.  after the ceremony, there was a vintage dickson city fire truck waiting outside for photos which was so appropriate for a family full of fire fighters!

the reception was a the same venue where katie's bridal shower was and it was lovely.  the cinderella blue lighting theme was so pretty and the doughnut display was awesome!  we had such a fun time at the reception and enjoyed getting to dance together with katie.

golden

the sun was shining through the bedroom window so nicely on sunday morning.  i rolled over and found leko staring out the window basking in the sunlight.  he was glowing and looked golden.  so happy for nicer weather now!

hidden in plain sight

ryan couldn't find leko recently and it wasn't until he looked closely that he saw a pair of eyes and ears in the sink!  (please disregard how messy the kitchen counters are in this photo, the kitten is cute!)

when dad lays out a towel on the kitchen floor to dry the bottoms of his wet shoes, naturally you attack the towel.
