outdoor summer concerts

ryan is in charge of putting together the outdoor summer concerts at the university again this summer like he did last year.  

we all went over to enjoy the music on sunday evening, and the weather was beautiful.  noah did so well during the concert.  he checked everything out and rode around on his little bike.

the local newspaper even used his photo in the monday paper because the photographer couldn't resist noah in those sunglasses!

we're looking forward to the next concert!

what's more fun than a box?!

doing some organizing recently, we had some boxes out on the kitchen floor, and noah jumped right in . . . he found the perfect noah-sized box and had a grand time.  he was even chewing on the corner of the box which reminded us of leko doing that when he was little!

i was looking for leko the other day and then found cute little eyes peering out at me from inside his kitty theatre.  we bought this for leko a long time ago and he hasn't played in it in awhile!  it was cute to see him back in there!

11 months old!

how is it even possible that this guy is 11 months old today?!  noah was having a good time playing in an empty box earlier this week.  who needs toys when you have a cardboard box?!

he may be a crazy nutcase when he's awake, but he looks angelic when he sleeps!  what a character!

new toy!

even though noah's 1st birthday is over a month away, my parents wanted to give him his birthday present early so that he could enjoy it throughout the summer.  ryan and grandpa assembled it and noah got to try it out this weekend at the theater in the hallways.  

this gift will last noah for years since it grows with him through different stages.  he really enjoyed it!

big boy!

we went shopping at a home decor store recently to look around and escape the heat in the store's air conditioning.  we put noah in the shopping cart and it was the first time he ever sat in a shopping cart!  he looked like such a big boy!

hitting the bike trail with noah

noah really enjoyed his first bike ride, so we took him to our favorite local trail for another biking adventure.  much to our surprise he did great and allowed us to bike all 12 miles of the trail!  he even dozed off for a little while and took a nap while we biked!

he was such a riot in those sunglasses and that helmet.  what a character!  he's riding in style like a king for sure!

we pulled our inflatable swimming pool out of the garage and filled it with just a little bit of water so that we could all cool off and get some relief from the heat and humidity.  we brought noah's little bath toys out and he really enjoyed it!

we found a new-to-us park in a nearby neighborhood while driving around one day when noah was sleeping in the car, so we wanted to check it out when he was awake.  we headed back over recently and enjoyed a little time on the park equipment before the sun got too hot and we had to run back into the car for air conditioning.

noah's first time biking!

anyone who knows us knows that we love biking.  it has been one of our favorite activities for years.  so, we've been looking forward to getting noah out with us on the bike trails.  

we recently purchased a tiny helmet and a seat attachment for ryan's bike so that noah could come along.  we tried it out for the first time on a nearby trail and he was loving it.  he really got a kick out of looking around and feeling the breeze!

this particular helmet and this bike seat will both grow with noah and last him for a few years!

my goodness the weather has been oppressive lately, especially since we don't have air conditioning in our nearly century-old house.  the heat and humidity are wicked.  

ryan found this adorable little splash pad that hooks up to a garden hose and we have been enjoying it.  noah likes splashing in the bath tub, so we thought he would like this, and we were right!

ribbon cutting

recently goodwill opened a new store and we went to the ribbon cutting ceremony to support our company since the theatre we work for is owned and operated by goodwill.  even noah got in on the action and held the official ribbon during the cutting!

celebrating the fourth of july

we celebrated the fourth of july with our families at ryan's parents' house on tuesday.  it was a hot and humid day outside, so we stayed inside for most of the day and enjoyed their air conditioning.  it was noah's first fourth of july so we dressed him up in a classic old navy flag shirt and his adorable flag shorts.  he entertained everyone in his walking toy contraption.
