2019: our year in review

another year has come and gone and it's that time again for another annual year-in-review post!  i love these posts each year because they are such a nice way to close out the year and to look back on all of the things that we packed into the past twelve months.

here are our highlights from 2019 . . .

in january, we rang in the new year and celebrated seven years with leko.  i turned 34 and to celebrate we had a dinner party with our families, saw the dancing with the stars live tour show, visited a new local aquarium, and enjoyed some treatsi was on local tv to promote an upcoming show at the theatre, and we saw the tour of disney on ice when it came to town.  we celebrated aunt ruth's 75th birthday and stayed home for a snowed-in weekend with leko.  we worked the national tour of the broadway musical spamalot when it came to town too.

in february, leko looked for his shadow on groundhog's day but did not see it so he predicted an early spring!  we all curled up on the couch to watch the superbowl and had a production of "nunsense" at the theatre.  i celebrated my one year work anniversary of working at the theatre and we celebrated valentine's daythe mac king comedy magic show came to our theatre from las vegas and we took a trip to new jersey with my parents for some cheesecake.  i hosted a high school field trip at my theatre and we worked a billy joel's tribute show too.

in march, we celebrated ryan's mom's birthday, worked a journey tribute concert, and worked the national tour of the broadway musical "the king and i" when it came to town.

in april, we saw a few shows, leko discovered his love for an orange sneaker box, and we worked several more shows.  we went to see sight and sound's noah in movie theatres, and we celebrated easter sunday with our families.  i was the guest on a local radio station's podcast, we took a walk around a local lake, and ryan designed the lights for a local high school's play.  we took a trip to the steamtown train museum with our families, and worked a bunch of shows back-to-back in the theatre.

in may, leko kept us laughing with the funny positions he gets in to sleep and we worked an irish history play and a bunch of dance recitals.  we celebrated mother's day with our families and we went on a train ride in the rain.  we took a vacation to walt disney world in florida and we got together with our families for a picnic and a walk on memorial day.


in june, leko enjoyed the warm weather and we celebrated father's day with a quick lunch between shows at the theatre.  we learned how to drive fork lifts, and we finished up spring dance recital season.  we took a cruise aboard the norwegian escape ship from nyc to bermuda too!


in july, we celebrated the fourth of july with our families and i went on a summer garden tour with my parents.  we worked the summer concert season as well as camp bisco and a kids' musical revue show.  we also worked the peach music festival and another kids' musical revue show.



in august, we celebrated our nine year wedding anniversary by working the train / goo goo dolls concert and the dierks bentley concert at our local outdoor concert pavilion.  we took a trip to the lehigh valley zoo with our parents to visit the animals, and made our annual trip to the wanye county fair.  we visited the grand canyon of pennsylvania with my parents, and celebrated ryan's 35th birthday by taking a trip to knoebels amusement park with our family.  we worked another summer concert, and another summer concert.  we took a trip to sight and sound theatre in lancaster with our families to see their production of jesus, and made our annual pilgrimage to our local italian festival.




in september, we kicked off the fall season at our theater with a rolling stones tribute show.  made our annual trips to roba family farms and ritter's cider mill.  we celebrated leko's 8th birthday and worked our last outdoor concert for the summer season.  we enjoyed the fall weather with a walk around lake scranton, and saw the touring off-broadway show "the office" when it came to town.  we took a day trip to woodbury common too.



in october, my blog turned 8 years old!  we worked a beach boys tribute show at the theatre, and made a creative centerpiece out of book pages for an arts event.  we saw a group of actors perform at a local cemetery walking tour, and we took a trip to dorney park.  we saw an ice hockey game and celebrated my parents' anniversary by going to nyc to see the broadway musical tootsie.  we worked the national tour of the broadway musical "a bronx tale" when it came to town and worked a children's musical based on the "judy moody and stink" book series.  we celebrated halloween by dressing up and handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters at our house too.





in november, we worked some more shows and celebrated my dad's birthday.  we worked a judy collins concert, and celebrated thanksgiving with our families.  we kicked off the holiday season by working the twelve twenty-four show too.


in december, we sent out our annual christmas cards.  we saw mannheim steamroller live in concert and we saw an eagles tribute band to celebrate my mom's birthday.  we worked a holiday dance recital followed by another holiday dance recital.  we spent the entire month working on the nutcracker.  we decorated the front of our theatre for the holiday season and decorated a theatre tree at our local mall for a tree festival.  we celebrated christmas eve and christmas day with our families, and survived all of the nutcracker.

No wonder you guys are tired, that sure was a fully-packed year!

Whew! That was certainly a very busy year! Let's hope 2020 is a good year for everyone.
