noah got some fun easter crafts, had a yummy breakfast with eggs, potatoes, and french toast sticks, met the easter bunny, and went on a little easter egg hunt. it was adorable.

we have been hard at work on rapunzel for quite a bit now and we're building scenery, making props, and creating costumes like crazy.
here's a tiny little sneak peak of some construction shots of rapunzel's tower build. it's nearly finished but i won't reveal the finished product just yet. let's just say we may have outdone ourselves with this one! it stands at a massive 10 feet wide and over 15 feet tall.

a few recent photos from preschool of noah working on tracing letters, painting, eating lunch, playing at the sand table, and working on shapes.

saturday was the only day we have had off work in months so we took noah to an indoor play place called v.i.p. kids club. we had never been there before and he had himself a good time.
there were st. patrick's day crafts and cookie decorating too so he liked that!

noah got to open his belated christmas presents from his cousins and he loved the kid camera they sent him! now he's a little photographer just like mama.

well, i didn't think i knew any van morrison songs until we did a van morrison tribute this weekend and i realized that i did in fact recognize a few!
it has been over two months since we've had a tribute band at the theatre (and thank goodness for that because we were so busy with cabaret). we had three shows this weekend and luckily they all went well. now we're back into tribute band season before dance recital season comes back soon.

this past week was read across america week and i was happy to be able to be one of the parents who visited noah's classroom to read a book to the students. i let noah pick which book he wanted me to read to the class and he chose "dandelon magic" and it was the perfect choice because it is interactive and it was a new one for his teachers and classmates. i'm so glad his teacher snapped a photo.

noah's class finally got to go outside on a nice day last week to soak up the sunshine! he was in his glory after being cooped up inside so long.

after putting it off for far too long we finally felt it was time to suit up and take down the world's messiest fake snow-covered tree in the theatre lobby. god, we really hate this dumb thing.

noah and his classmates got a fun surprise last week when their teachers brought in two 6-week old baby goats to visit. they all had a great time watching the goats play, petting them, and feeding them!

the spring main-stage musical at the university where ryan and i work was "cabaret" this year!
as usual, ryan wore many hats: production manager, technical director, lighting designer, and set builder. i designed the costumes and overall held everything together, while noah supervised it all.
above are some photos from the show taken by the university students for the school newspaper.
for my own sake, at the end of costuming designing every show i like to take a total count of all of the costumes in the production. here's my tally for this production . . .
"cabaret" by the numbers:
93 full outfits
individual pieces of clothing including:
4 lace bras
8 pairs of costume underwear
1 bedazzled unitard
3 bedazzled leotards
3 solid leotards
3 corsets
3 slips
17 dresses
9 skirts
7 shorts
25 shirts
14 vests
1 cape
7 sweaters
11 robes
21 jackets
19 coats
29 pants
10 belts
5 suspenders
1 cummerbund
19 ties
5 aprons
11 pairs of socks
16 stockings
32 pairs of shoes
3 feather boas
2 shawls
2 arm bands
16 hats
1 scarf
1 pair of glasses
1 wig
countless hair ties and bobby pins
bringing the grand tally of things in the show to 309 things that i have to track!
i decided to make the lobby an immersive experience so audience felt like they were walking into the kit kat club. so, i costumed the ushers and even gave ryan an little pizazz!
