hello, baby!

yesterday we got to see baby's cute little face via a 4D ultrasound.  well, we saw most of his face, because he was covering the left side of his face with his left hand!

our baby shower

sunday was our baby shower and it was such a memorable day!

we were involved in choosing the date and location for the shower, but other than that we had no idea about anything else regarding the shower.   our moms and dads worked for weeks and weeks to plan the party and managed to keep every little detail a secret in order to surprise us (which i'm sure was not an easy task).

our incredible parents pulled off an amazing baby shower.  the room was beautifully decorated and the food was absolutely delicious!  they decorated in blue and white along with an animal theme which matched our animal theme for baby's nursery.  

their diaper decorations were so clever, the assortment of food was great, and the desserts were yummy!

we were so overwhelmed with the outpouring of love from everyone, and so blessed by everyone's generous gifts.

i haven't collected all of the photos yet from everyone's different phones/cameras, but in the meantime here are a few snapshots from the day . . .

hello, hydrangea!

we're thrilled to see several blooms on our hydrangea plant in our front yard.  this poor guy went through a lot of trauma getting dug up by the gas company last year and relocated, so we're happy to see some beautiful bright blue blooms this summer!  yay!

it took me over a month, but to conclude our walt disney world vacation posts, here is a video of clips from our trip.  i didn't document everything, but managed to get a few clips to recap most of our trip.

we had such a great time on our trip, and i'm really glad we have these photos/video to look back on  to remember our vacation.

testing out the baby stroller

over the holiday weekend we were working on some baby-related things.  we were in the nursery and of course leko was helping us.  we picked him up to see what he thought about the stroller.  we was so cute in there!

cooling off in the back yard

we were pretty hot and sweaty after walking around lake scranton on saturday.  we came home after our walk and decided to set up the inflatable kiddie pool that we bought last summer and never used.

it only took a few minutes to blow up and about an hour to fill with water.  even though it was really hot and humid outside, the water was cold so it was very refreshing!

a saturday afternoon walk around the lake

we had the day free on saturday, so we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and take a walk around lake scranton.  we headed up there with a little picnic lunch which we enjoyed before walking the 3.8 mile trail around the lake.  it wasn't too crowded and was really peaceful.  

we saw chipmunks, squirrels, geese, and baby deer on our walk.  a nice little afternoon date.

celebrating the 4th of july

we kicked off our fourth of july celebrations on sunday by heading downtown to see the fireworks display.  the weather was lovely and it was nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy some music and the fireworks.

on monday, we headed down to my parents' house.  we had a cookout lunch on the deck, played some games in the yard (including croquet, bocce ball, horseshoes, and bean-bag toss), had burgers on the grill for dinner, and then walked around the block.

it was a nice and relaxing hoilday weekend.

ice cream date

dear ryan,

there's no one i'd rather take spontaneous ice cream trips with, sit outside on a bench with, and discuss life with . . . thanks for being up for driving way out of the way to get to specific ice cream shops and thanks for the little date.
