celebrating the fourth of july!

we celebrated the fourth of july at our house with a picnic on the back deck.  it was nice to have a weekend off work and to celebrate with good food and family!

on thursday, we celebrated the fourth of july at our house with a picnic on the back deck.  noah kept everyone entertained by playing with his water table, splashing in his little pool, and watering the lawn.

on friday, we checked out a local town's festival where noah got to play on the playground, climb inside a real firetruck for their touch-a-truck event, and see some fireworks.

celebrating the fourth of july

we celebrated the fourth of july with our families at ryan's parents' house on tuesday.  it was a hot and humid day outside, so we stayed inside for most of the day and enjoyed their air conditioning.  it was noah's first fourth of july so we dressed him up in a classic old navy flag shirt and his adorable flag shorts.  he entertained everyone in his walking toy contraption.

celebrating the 4th of july

we kicked off our fourth of july celebrations on sunday by heading downtown to see the fireworks display.  the weather was lovely and it was nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy some music and the fireworks.

on monday, we headed down to my parents' house.  we had a cookout lunch on the deck, played some games in the yard (including croquet, bocce ball, horseshoes, and bean-bag toss), had burgers on the grill for dinner, and then walked around the block.

it was a nice and relaxing hoilday weekend.

enjoying some more fireworks

we really enjoyed seeing fireworks on saturday at skytop even though it was raining.  luckly, the weather cleared up and was nice and dry yesterday for fireworks at the north pocono school district stadium.  this was our first year seeing the north pocono fireworks and we were really impressed!

4th of july fireworks in the rain

after work on saturday, we went over to my parents' house for dinner and then headed up to skytop lodge to see their fireworks display.  i don't think i can ever remember a 4th of july fireworks display in the rain before!  it was so, so chilly.  we bundled up in multiple layers, our rain jackets, and boots, and had our umbrellas in hand.  we braved the chilly rain to see the fireworks display from under our umbrellas but it was worth it because the fireworks were great!
