saturday morning at the scranton made holiday marketplace

on saturday morning we went to a local holiday marketplace.  we're not typically into "craft fairs" but this holiday marketplace is so much more than an old-fashioned craft fair.  over 150 local vendors gather together for 3 days over the weekend to sell their goods at the old globe department store.  the entire event is organized by the scranton made company and it is really an unbelievable undertaking.  there was music, food, and even an ice skating rink!

the organizers put together goodie bags for the first 200 people in line and we were happy that we were able to each get a bag, filled with lots of neat stuff from local businesses.  (it totally made the 40 minute wait in line in the cold worth it!)

we bought 2 christmas ornaments while we were there and a cute mug.  we also picked up a neat piece of history from the town where we live (i'll share more on that later) and i got a custom-made necklace too.

i love how they took the time to elaborately decorate the old department store windows.  it took countless hours for the organizers to set up the event and everything really looked great!

love, laurie

It was a really great experience seeing all of the vendors. There was quite a variety of different types of items to buy. It is good to see so many people in specialty businesses.
