a glorious sunday!

we finished our last show of the season on saturday night and it felt soooo good to be done with all of the shows for the season!  we had the entire day all to ourselves on sunday, which is something that has not happened for months.  for the first time in very long time, we did not have to be cooped up in a theatre, and we had absolutely nowhere to be and we had no plans.  it was wonderful.  as if that wasn't good enough, the weather on sunday was the nicest we have seen all year!  the temperatures were in the 60s, the sun was shining, and birds were chirping.  we even found a few crocuses popping up in our yard!  hello, spring . . . finally!

it was really nice to not have to set an alarm clock on sunday morning and to be able to sleep in a little bit.  we woke up leisurely and enjoyed apple cinnamon pancakes in our pajamas.

leko helped us with a few chores around the house.  he was thrilled to have us home and we were excited to finally be able to spend some time with him and to play with him, which of course included jumping in and out of one of our suitcases . . . endless fun for kitten!

after getting a few things done around the house, we ventured out to run some errands.  after our errands, we stopped for an ice cream date at one of our favorite ice cream shoppes that just opened for the season.  we were beyond thrilled to be able to sit outside and eat our ice cream.

we headed back home and took a walk around our neighborhood to work off our ice cream.  the sun felt so nice and warm.  it was wonderful.  after our walk, we came home and fired up the grill for the first time since last fall.  we made foil packet dinners on the grill with carrots, celery, onions, spinach, and tilapia.  it was so good!  we sat out on our screen porch to eat dinner while leko watched the birds in the yard.  it was an absolutely glorious sunday and we had so much fun spending time together!

hope everyone had a great weekend!
love, laurie

Beautiful crocuses. I have not seen a flower since last year. We are starting to see the daffodils' green stems poking through, but no flowers yet. It was absolutely a gorgeous day. I cleaned the grill and made sure it was working for the season. Fired it up, but did not cook anything. Are you sending the Leko to Grandma's house? He looks ready to go somewhere. Fish looks good. Shoprite had tilapia on sale this week. Did not cook it yet, maybe I will try that recipe.

The crocuses are beautiful. Leko is being his usual cute self! The tilapia looks really yummy. I'm glad you finally had a relaxing day!
