mother's day 2026

we have all been so busy that we decided to make mother's day easy by getting take out and ice cream cake for dinner on my parents' back porch.  it was a nice a simple way to celebrate.

mother's day 2025

after seeing the tulips at lakeland mother's day, we went to my parents' house to celebrate mother's day.  we had some yummy dinner and ice cream cake for dessert, which mr. noah devoured!

a trip to see the tulips on mother's day

we enjoyed visiting the lakeland orchard tulip festival on thursday, so we went back on mother's day to see the tulips one last time before they were all gone for the season.

it was much brighter, warmer, and busier on sunday than it was on thursday, but that was to be expected since it was the first nice weather day we have had in a long time.

we strolled through the tulips again and snapped a few more photos . . .

happy mother’s day weekend!

last year, our friends katie and travis took these amazing mother's day photos of the three of us and we absolutely love those photos so much.  those were the first professional photos we ever had taken of noah and we just adore them.

we were looking forward to having katie and travis take our mother's day photos again this year and booked our appointment in advance for travis' mid-march mother's day sessions.  noah did so great during his last photo shoots and loves getting his photo taken at home, so we assumed he'd be fine.

he was anything but fine on the day of the photo shoot and was absolutely not having any of it at all.  he was a hysterical mess and would not cooperate no matter what we did.  it was a disaster.  here are a few of the photos that travis got.  bless his heart, he worked hard for these with a very uncooperative child.  they aren't my favorites for sure (not travis' fault at all) and i definitely wish noah was in a better mood that day.  what an ordeal the whole thing was!

mother's day 2023

it took me a minute, but i'm finally getting around to sharing our mother's day photos.  we started out the morning with a tasty breakfast at home along with some flowers that ryan picked from our yard.

we celebrated the rest of mother's day with our families at ryan's parents' house.  we had a yummy meal, played with the kitties, took a walk around the block, and celebrated our mamas of course!

happy mother’s day!

happy mother's day!  last year noah was in my tummy for mother's day, and we did a gender reveal for our parents on mother's day!  i can’t believe it’s a whole year later.

we're so very grateful for our amazing mamas today and every day!

back in the middle of march our friends katie and travis invited us to take part in their mother’s day photo sessions.  travis is a professional photographer and he is incredible at what he does.  we had never had professional photos taken of noah, so we were excited for the opportunity.

travis gave us a ton of great photos!  here are a few of them . . .

mother's day 2022

we celebrated mother's day on sunday at our house with our parents.  everyone came over for a tea party brunch and we enjoyed egg casserole, tater tots, a cast-iron skillet pancake with berries, mini mocha chocolate chip muffins, and cinnamon rolls.

we took a walk on a newly opened trail and then later in the day made homemade pizza in the backyard with our pizza oven.  we capped off the evening with a gender reveal ice cream cake (but you'll have to wait a little while longer to find out the baby's gender)!

it was such a nice day to get together, relax, and celebrate!
