that's a wrap on dance recital season!

wow, this past week was a whirlwind wrapping up dance recital season.  we had rehearsal and/or a show every single day thursday through wednesday.  ryan was the lighting designer and light board operator for all of them and i'm really proud of him for creating so many incredible looks in record time.

we started off this past week with a local dance company's annual recital . . .

then we continued with the dance company i teach for with two different shows.  the junior show was disney descendants themed and it was great.  i'm so happy to teach for this great company and so happy to have had the opportunity to choreograph again.  (also thrilled to see my name printed on the back of the show t-shirt!  it's the little things in life that make you happy sometimes.)  ryan's lights were absolutely awesome!

my dance studio's senior show was equally great and ryan's lighting was some of his best yet!  the senior show was the last dance recital at our theatre for the season.

but we didn't stop there, after finishing my studio's senior show at our theatre, we rolled 2 miles down the street to the cultural center to put a final cap on recital season by working another dance show.  it was a big deal that ryan was chosen to design the lights for this show at the cultural center and i was so proud of him.  i ran the rail for the show and it was a fun one.

onto the next projects!

love, laurie

Whew, you both had a whirlwind spring with all those dance shows! They were fun to watch; the dancers are all so graceful. I agree; Ryan did an amazing job designing the lighting for all of the shows.

Yes, I bet you are glad to get the shows behind you. Ryan's lightning was the best for your dance studio with all of the different colors and moving lights. I think he sprinkled a little pixie dust on your lights. It was a marathon, but enjoyable.
