what a day

there's a kid's book titled "alexander and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day" and yesterday, boy was i alexander.  it was a ridiculous day at work where absolutely nothing worked out in our favor (except for landing one very exciting contract at the end of the day!).

my co-worker and i were commiserating about how bad the day was, and she reminded me that she always gets me to laugh at least once each day no matter how bad the day.  she pulled a little envelope out of her purse and said it was a card that she had been carrying around and had been meaning to give me.  yesterday was the perfect time because the front of the card made me laugh and the inside made me smile.  it was so sweet and exactly what i needed on my alexander day.

i'm determined that today is going to be much better!
