norwegian breakaway cruise to bermuda - part 1

the past few months have been crazy.  we have been juggling so many different things at once, and we have been totally worn out and exhausted.  needless to say, we were in need of a good vacation.  so, last week we used our vacation days from work and we went on a cruise to bermuda!

we drove into manhattan and then set sail aboard the norwegian breakaway cruise ship.  we cruised to bermuda, where we stayed for three days before cruising back to nyc.  the norwegian breakaway is norwegian cruise line's newest ship.  the ship is nyc themed, and it holds 3,969 passengers and 1,651 crew members.  there were so many things to do and to see on board.  we enjoyed the pools and hot tubs, saw different shows in the theatre and the lounges, played mini golf in the middle of the ocean, climbed around on the crazy ropes course, and ate way too much food.

we just got back from our vacation yesterday afternoon, and we had a great time!  the trip was a lot of fun.  of course, we took a ton of photos while we were on our cruise.  so, this week i will be sharing some of the many, many pictures that we took on board the ship and around bermuda.  to get started, here are a few pictures from around the ship . . .

^the ship set sail from manhattan, so it was so neat to see landmarks like ellis island and the statue of liberty from the ship as we cruised down the hudson river^
^as soon as you get on board, the crew sends you right up to the buffet for lunch.  oh my goodness, i still can't believe how much food we ate this past week!^
^there was so much to do on board, including mini golf . . . which is especially hard when you are out in the middle of the ocean and it is so windy!^
^one of my very favorite activities on board was the ropes course.  i absolutely loved it!  they gave you a harness and let you climb all around the structure on the very top of the ship which was the 18th deck!^
^look mom, one foot!  (i'm pretty sure ryan holds his breath whenever i do crazy stunts like this.)^
^as part of the ropes course you could "walk the plank" 8 feet over the side of the ship.  i loved it!  it was such a rush, especially as the wind was whipping as the ship was sailing.  it felt a lot like parasailing!^

love, laurie

Wow, big ship.
I love the tight rope walking pictures. But it looks a little too dangerous! Don't look down I guess. Great pose.
