nyc: central park

the weather was absolutely beautiful over the weekend.  it was fall weather at its finest!  since the weather was so gorgeous, we decided to head into nyc and spend a day enjoying central park.

if you're in nyc, central park is a must see.  it is a tranquil and serene piece of beauty smack dab in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the crazy city.  central park is absolutely huge.  it's 51 blocks long (from 59th street to 110th street) and 3 blocks wide (from 5th avenue to 8th avenue).

since the park is so big, it's impossible to see the entire park in just one day.  we managed to walk a good majority of the park, and boy did our feet feel it by the end of the day.  (at least we got some good exercise to work off all of that delicious nyc food!)  tired and dirty feet are always a sure sign of a day well spent in the city!

^the lake (can you believe how green it is?!)^

as kathleen kelly said in you've got mail
"don't you just love new york in the fall?"
