on labor day, we went up to lakeland orchard to do some apple picking and to check out their apple harvest festival.
noah was really into the apple picking and did a great job picking 13 yummy looking sweet maia apples.

i've mentioned numerous times that my favorite end-of-summer tradition is visiting our local italian festival over labor day weekend. it's especially important to us since it's where we went on our very first date back in 2004. i can't believe this year is 20 years since we first went together!
we went twice this year and had a good time eating and sight seeing.
i never got around to sharing photos from labor day. in addition to enjoying the italian festival on labor day weekend we all got together for some dinner and for noah to open his birthday presents that he didn't get around to opening during his birthday celebrations.
it was nice to get together to say goodbye to summer and hello to fall.

noah was really into it. he loved tasting everything, sight seeing, and dancing to the live music! we made multiple trips to make the most of our favorite festival. on friday, while we were sitting at a table eating, ryan spotted a four-leaf clover next to his chair. he then proceeded to find a total of 9 four-leaf clovers and 1 five-leaf clover! unreal.

last year noah was just a teeny-tiny little munchkin at the italian festival. this year he was really into it and loved tasting everything! we made multiple trips to make the most of our favorite festival!

we had to navigate the festival a bit differently this year since we had little man in tow and we didn’t want him out and about in the large crowds because he’s so little. we headed down to the italian festival on friday afternoon to grab some dinner and soak in the festivities. we had to pass on the fireworks this year, but hopefully we’ll be able to catch them next year when noah is a bit older.
we celebrated labor day with our families at ryan's parents' house on saturday for a cookout. it was a nice quiet day inside with family.
on sunday, we spent the day at my parents' house and then headed back down to the italian festival for dinner with ryan's parents.
we finished off the long three-day weekend by spending all of monday at home catching up on chores and resting since it was pouring rain outside all day.
overall, it was a nice labor day holiday weekend!
let the countdown begin for next year's festival!
