hello, summer!
we finally got the chance to check one out recently and although it wasn't exactly what we expected, we were pleasantly surprised to see how many bikes they had for sale.
noah has a little tricycle, but he doesn't have a big-boy bike. we were planning on waiting a while longer before buying one for him, but the price was so good we couldn't pass it up.
ryan knows a thing or two about bikes so he spent a lot of time in the store sorting through all of the bikes to find one for noah. he finally found one that had the features he wanted and was in good shape.
noah was so excited and couldn't wait to bring it home. of course it started raining the moment after we got it all set up for him outside, so we brought it down to the basement for him so that he could have some fun. he isn't ready to ride it just yet. he has to get a little bit taller and still has to learn how to peddle, but we started teaching him and i'm sure he'll get the hang of it before we know it!
noah is undoubtedly the worst sleeper in the entire world. no one can convince me otherwise.
occasionally he will fall asleep for short periods of time and look cute, but it doesn't last.
he was really zonked out the other day after a long show and i had to snap a picture.

we went up to lakeland for a little bit on sunday afternoon and boy was it chilly and windy. i can't believe we were bundled up in winter coats and gloves on memorial day weekend!
you know us . . . just trying to make the most of our season passes.
memorial day always feels like the start of summer to me. we're excited to finally have a day off work today. hope everyone has a peaceful memorial day!

noah has been really excited about the carousel at lakeland so far this season. he hasn't been afraid to ride the horses yet. he has been especially excited to ride the ones that go up and down and says "weeee that fun" the whole ride!
i'm still dreaming about those rows and rows of endless tulips, especially on these dreary and rainy days!
we took a quick trip up to lakeland recently because they were having their "rigs and digs" event where they have a bunch of fun equipment brought to the orchard by a local equipment supply company.
noah absolutely loves construction and lawn equipment so he was excited to be able to sit in the driver's seat of excavators, skid steers, rinding lawn mowers, and other things that i don't even know what they're called (but i'm sure he knows the names of these things)!
needless to say, he was excited to try it all out!

i don't know how this 2 year old is strong enough to carry around the leaf blower, but he is . . . he even makes his own sound effects when he pretends to blow the grass off the driveway after mowing.
we were cracking up because wearing the hat, sunglasses, and boots, he looked like he had his own little lawn service.
this guy deserved a treat after 11 straight days in a row at the theatre working a dance show, so we took him to red robin on the first wednesday of the month for kids' night. we were able to combine our trip with a coupon i had before it expired, so it was a fun and cheap little outing. he enjoyed himself!
getting a drink, meal, and sundae all free for him can't be beat!
after seeing the tulips at lakeland mother's day, we went to my parents' house to celebrate mother's day. we had some yummy dinner and ice cream cake for dessert, which mr. noah devoured!
we enjoyed visiting the lakeland orchard tulip festival on thursday, so we went back on mother's day to see the tulips one last time before they were all gone for the season.
it was much brighter, warmer, and busier on sunday than it was on thursday, but that was to be expected since it was the first nice weather day we have had in a long time.
we strolled through the tulips again and snapped a few more photos . . .
