claws 'n' paws wild animal park zoo

growing up, i remember visiting claws 'n' paws wild animal park several times for family outings and school field trips.  it has been several decades since i've been there.  we thought it would be fun to take noah since he only ever visited a zoo once on his first birthday.

we went in the morning and noah loved it.  he was such a good sport and saw every single exhibit.  i definitely think his favorite animal was the giraffe who he passed by a few times and even got to feed!

a trip to the zoo for noah's first birthday

we didn't have any specific plans for noah's first birthday on monday.  we had some meetings in the morning and then decided to see how the day went.  in true unpredictable noah fashion, he was back-and-forth between being happy and cranky.  

we really wanted to get him to a zoo this summer, but never got to go, so when he refused to nap in the afternoon we put him in the car and took a drive with our fingers crossed.  he fell asleep in the car on the ride and we headed to animal adventure park in upstate new york.  luckily he was happy when we arrived and enjoyed going around the zoo.  we loved this zoo and were amazed by how clean it was and how close to the animals we were able to get.

the animals were beautiful and friendly.  it was a much larger zoo than we expected.  my highlights were feeding lettuce to a giraffe, the one-month old baby monkey, the lion, and the tigers.

noah was a champ until the end when he had enough, so we headed home right around closing time.  i would definitely go back!

the lehigh valley zoo

we took the day off work on friday to take a trip to the lehigh valley zoo with our parents.  the only time i was ever at the lehigh valley zoo was for their christmas light display two years ago, so it was nice to see the zoo in daylight in the summer with all of the animals out.

my dad found discounted admission passes online which was great.  we spent a little over 2 hours walking around the zoo looking at the animals.  by far, the penguins were my favorite.  they are so darn cute and really remind me of leko!
