blueberry picking
we always enjoy going to local farms in the summer to go berry picking. we didn't get to go at all last year, and this year we weren't able to make it during the weeks that strawberries were available for picking. so, we were happy to be able to get to a blueberry farm this weekend to go blueberry picking.
the first time we went blueberry picking at paupack blueberry farm, we got a bunch of berries, but the last time we visited, we hardly got enough to cover the bottom of our bucket. so, we were really pleased to find an abundance of blueberries this year and we were able to fill our buckets full!
it was a warm morning, but the breeze was refreshing. it was nice to get outside and escape for a little bit in the blueberry fields. a few pictures from our picking adventures . . .
when we got home, leko had to inspect our blueberry bucket. of course we didn't let him get too close to them, because we didn't want his fur to get stained from the berries!

a family strawberry picking adventure
we absolutely love going strawberry picking in the summer. i have been craving summer strawberries so badly for the past few weeks but have had to be very patient waiting because the strawberry crop was a little late this year.
since our schedules have been crazy, we carved out a little time bright and early sunday morning to go on a strawberry picking adventure before the pick-your-own berries season ended. this year, it was nice that our parents were able to join us.
we got up nice and early to get to the strawberry farm as soon as they opened at 8am in order to beat the heat. we have been in a heat wave for the past few days, so a light-weight sun dress and a top knot were necessary for sure.
we took a little tractor ride out to the field, filled our buckets, and soaked up the ambiance and the aromas and of strawberries in the summer sun.
ryan and i picked about 5 pounds of strawberries and were pleased to see that they were much bigger than previous years. so far, we have enjoyed our strawberries on top of ice cream and in our cereal. we're really looking forward to having those delicious berries in our fridge all week long to eat!

strawberry picking
over fourth of july weekend, we spent some time early monday afternoon picking strawberries at a local strawberry farm. we absolutely love strawberry picking but we haven't been able to go the past few years. the weather was beautiful, and it was so nice to be outside in a field full of the most wonderful aroma of warm strawberries in the summer sun.
we took a tractor ride out to the field, filled up our bucket (and our tummies), and then walked back to the car. we left the farm with several pounds of fresh strawberries which we dug into when we got home!
