carnival sunshine cruise to canada - part 1

we absolutely love cruising, and so do my parents, but ryan's parents have never been on a cruise before.  several months ago, we got the idea to go on a cruise with our whole family to introduce ryan's parents to cruising.  we've been on vacation with my parents, and we have traveled with ryan's parents, but this was the first time we went on a joint family vacation all together!

last week we used some of our vacation days and took a cruise to canada.  we headed into manhattan and then set sail aboard the carnival sunshine cruise ship.  we cruised to canada, where we visited saint john, new brunswick and halifax, nova scotia.  we had a lot of fun around the ship and in our ports of call.  there were a lot of things to do, and of course we ate way too much food!

between all of us, we took a ton of photos while we were on our cruise.  so, this week and next week i will be sharing some of the many, many pictures that we took on board the ship and in canada.  to get started, here are a few pictures from the first day when we boarded and explored the ship, and then set sail out of manhattan.  sailing out of manhattan is always so nice because you get to see landmarks like ellis island and the statue of liberty from the ship as you cruise down the hudson river!

love, laurie

In my opinion, New York is the best departure port because of all the landmarks. It is always a thrill to pass by the Statue of Liberty. Once again, you photo are magnificent.
