ringing in the new year

we celebrated the new year with our family with lots of meals and lots of running after noah.

we went to ryan's parents' house for lunch on new year's eve and later had dinner at our house on new year's eve.  then we got together for more eating on new year's day for dinner at our house.

we celebrated new year's eve on sunday at ryan's parents' house.  we got together to eat (of course) and play with noah.

on monday, we headed down to my parents' house to celebrate new year's day.  it was a nice way to ring in the new year!

ringing in the new year

we celebrated new year's eve on friday at ryan's parents' house.  we got together to eat (of course) and enjoy time with the kitties.  later that night, we curled up on the couch with leko to watch the ball drop.

on saturday we headed down to my parents' house to celebrate new year's day.  it was a nice quiet way to ring in the new year!

we celebrated new year's eve on thursday with our families at ryan's parents' house.  we got together to eat (of course) and watch the christmas vacation movie.  we had a lot of fun playing with their kittens too!

on saturday we went down to my parents' house and spent the day with them (eating again, of course) and watching some netflix while loving up their kittens!

the common theme for ringing in the new year was definitely eating, kitty loving, and sitting on the couch to watch tv.  not a bad way to say goodbye to 2020 and welcome 2021 if i do say so myself!

ringing in the new year

we celebrated new year's eve on tuesday by getting together with ryan's parents and ryan's brother's family for lunch.  after lunch we got to visit with them for a little while since they were in town for a few days from north carolina.

in the evening, we got together with my parents and went out to dinner at one of our favorite thai restaurants.  dinner and dessert were both delicious!  after dinner, we went to the movie theatre to see the new cats movie.  it was bizarre to say the least, but we had a good time all together.  we headed home after the movie to watch the times square ball drop as we were dozing off to sleep.

on wednesday, we went over to my parents' house after work.  my mom made her traditional pork and sauerkraut dinner with chocolate pie for dessert.

ringing in the new year

on sunday we celebrated new year's eve with my parents.  we got together before dinner to see the movie the greatest showman.  after the movie, we had an indian-themed dinner at our house complete with naan, rice, paneer, chickpeas, potatoes, lentils, eggplant, spinach, and mango lassi drinks.  my mom made an indian fruit salad for dessert and we made chocolate chip cookies in mini cast-iron skillets too.  we capped off the night by curling up on the couch in our pajamas with leko to watch the times square ball drop on tv.

on monday we celebrated new year's day at my parents' house.  my mom made her traditional pork and sauerkraut dinner.  we had a great time ringing in the new year this weekend!  although there were certainly pleasant memories sprinkled throughout the year, both 2016 and 2017 weren't great years for us, so we're hoping that 2018 is a lot better!
