when mom finally lets you get the strawberry banana juice that you wanted so badly that you have to hold it tight the whole way home from the grocery store.

"cabaret" opens tonight at the university where we work and to say this show has been a labor of love would be an understatement. it's more like this show was cursed and we barely made it to opening night by the skin of our teeth. i hope everyone comes to see it and enjoys it.

a few recent preschool snapshots of mr. noah dominating the obstacle course, doing lots of arts-and-crafts, dressing up like an astronaut, making a bird nest, and being a happy camper.

noah's tent remains a popular destination for everyone in our house. i want to hang out in there now!

even though we're busy working on cabaret right now, i'm working ahead on rapunzel too. one of my bigger projects has been rapunzel's wig because the script calls for the wig to be three different length at different times in the show. it has been a project and noah has been there to model and help! can't wait to share the finished product when it's all done.

a few photos recently from preschool of mr. noah doing some minor construction, running through the obstacle course, doing a science project, and enjoying a pizza party for national pizza day!

my theatre students asked me to do a little fosse dance workshop with them and of course i said yes. they designed this poster, which made me laugh, and hug them all over the place.
they gave me this sweet little flower bouquet as a thank you too. they are really the best!

on friday, the university's student theatre club held a valentine's themed bake sale to raise money for their club. noah pitched in by helping to bake blondies and mini banana muffins on thursday night after school. he was happy to help his "big show" friends.
i snapped some pictures of chef noah to share with the kids in the club and they loved them! in order to get some business, they shared a photo of noah on the club's instagram stories . . .
noah had a fun time celebrating valentine's day at school on friday. he took in valentine cards and stickers for his friends and got to pass them out to everyone by putting them in his classmates' bags. he made mommy and daddy a sweet card too with the help of his favorite teacher. when he came home after school he had a fun time sorting through all of his valentine's treats from his classmates!

some recent preschool snapshots of playing at the sand table, making a mouth for dental week, building tall towers, and lots of fun at circle time.

today is my eight year work anniversary of running the theatre. (it feels like way more than that!) my job is truly bizarre, but i do like it and i'm very grateful to be able to do it!
get out there and support local live entertainment!
here are some photos from the past year at work.

ryan had to work on saturday, so noah and i stayed inside to stay warm and made some pumpkin muffins. the little muffin man had a lot of fun making them and eating them!

i have always loved my mom's recipe for pasta fagioli. noah apparently loves it too because he scarfed down lots of it recently when mee-maw made a batch!

noah's preschool celebrated groundhog's day last week in the cutest way. the kids decorated "happy groundhog's day" headbands to wear, did an art project where they made a groundhog, and then got to each take a turn being a groundhog and popping out of the groundhog borrow. so clever.

we have weird jobs. espeically making a concentration camp costume for the emcee in cabaret. i always like to leave little tricks in my costumes. bonus points to anyone who can spot the hidden easter egg in this costume piece!

it's so incredibly dry this time of year and the static is out of control. point in case: noah's hair which was literally standing on end after playing on the carpet!

thinking back to when mr. noah was only 5 months old and wearing my brother's noah's ark outfit from when he was a baby and thinking of uncle jeffrey today.

noah was only at preschool one day last week because school was canceled on monday because of the snow storm, and then he was out wednesday through friday because he was so sick. he's a lot better now and back to school this week. last week during his one day at school he managed to build with the wooden train tracks, play with orange play doh, and get his hair styled by helen!

last week was such an incredibly tough week. we were challenged with a major unexpected event which gave us whiplash. all we want to do is hide under a pink fleece blanket like leko does.
life is so insane, unpredictable, unfair, and bizarre. we're going to need a moment to navigate through this chapter.
give grace to those around you because you never know what battles they are fighting.
