annual christmas tree lighting ceremony

yesterday evening we went to the annual christmas tree lighting ceremony at work.  the tradition dates back to 1971, and we absolutely love going each year.  this year marks the 11th year that we have attended the tree lighting ceremony!

it is so special to see the community gather around the tree to sing christmas carols and illuminate the tree for the holiday season.  afterwards, everyone celebrates with hot cider, eggnog, and christmas cookies.  it's such a nice tradition, and a great way to kick off the holiday season.

love, laurie

That's a beautiful tree. It's also nice that it is inside and you don't have to stand outside in the cold.

What a huge, beautiful tree. The lights show very nice in the picture. I bet it was absolutely stunning in person. It is always festive to gather and sing Christmas carols, put you in the Holiday spirit.
