a rainy day in nyc - part 2

despite the rain, we had such a great day in nyc on monday.

after walking around manhattan, we walked across the east river over the brooklyn bridge.  what a cool experience!  i cannot wait to do it again in nice weather.

once we made the trek across the bridge, we grabbed pizza at grimaldi's for dinner.  oh brooklyn, you know how to steal my heart with your coal brick-oven pizza!  i will be dreaming about that pizza for a while for sure.  yum!

we hung out by the bridge in brooklyn bridge park and enjoyed the amazing view of the brooklyn bridge, the manhattan bridge, the manhattan skyline, and the statue of liberty.

we took the subway to greenpoint, brooklyn.  ryan's friend brendon (from high school) opened up a bike shop in greenpoint and we have been wanting to check it out for a while now.  brendon was so surprised to see us, and we had a great time visiting him and seeing his shop.

if you are in nyc and in need anything bike related, silk road cycles is the place to go.  it is a really neat shop, and brendon and his staff are so knowledgeable when it comes to bikes.  (we both think that the shop has the coolest logo too.  so clever!)

after we saw brendon, we hopped on the subway back to manhattan and made a quick pit stop at the trader joe's in chelsea to pick up whatever we could carry home with us.  (seriously, they need to build a trader joe's closer to us!)  then we grabbed jamba juice before heading home to pennsylvania.

we had such an awesome time in nyc on monday, even though the rain soaked us through to our bones!  our sneakers are going to need to dry out for the next several days, but it was so worth it!

love, laurie
