when all else fails and the baby won't nap, put him in the car seat and drive him around while holding a water bottle. desperate times!

Oh yes, how many times did I drive around trying to get you guys to nap, as so many parents do. You may not get rest, but the baby does.
I remember doing that decades ago! It is an old trick new parents have to use. In our experience the baby woke up as soon as the car stopped, but at least he got some sleep!
