a christmas wedding

we kicked off our christmas vacation this weekend with a christmas wedding!  on saturday, we traveled down to reading, pa for my friend jenn's wedding.  jenn and i have known each other since fifth grade, and it was so lovely to be able to share this special day with her.

the ceremony was beautiful.  it brought tears to my eyes to see jenn in her wedding dress and to watch her marry her new husband.  the church was decorated for christmas, and it was so festive.  after the ceremony, the reception was held inside a planetarium at a local museum.  the planetarium dome was lit up all night with changing colors and patterns.  it was a really neat way to "dance under the stars" in the middle of december.

when i first found out that jenn was getting married just a few days before christmas, i was worried that the weather might be an issue.  after all, we live in pennsylvania.  but, jenn really lucked out because the weather cooperated and it was unseasonably warm for december.  thank goodness we didn't have a snow storm like we did last weekend!

it was a lovely day and i'm grateful that i was able to be a part of it!

^it was so sweet to see jenn's mom walk her down the aisle^
^at the reception, the tables were marked with numbers that are
special to the bride and groom.  we were at table 1,975!^
^instead of a wedding cake they had a cupcake christmas tree^

congratulations to the bride and groom!
love, laurie

Jenn really looked beautiful. The ceiling really made a nice ambience. A cupcake tier, nice idea.

Her gown is beautiful; she is a pretty bride! I'm glad the weather was cooperative.
