the county fair

last night after work, we went to the wayne county fair.  there's nothing quite like a good old-fashioned county fair in the summertime.  one price per person covered parking, admission, exhibits, shows, and rides.  we saw a ton of different farm animals, and even watched two sneaky goats escape from their fence.  luckily, someone came to wrangle them back to where they were supposed to be.

we sat in the seats of the grandstand to watch a "truck pull" and i can assure you that i have never seen anything quite like that before, so that was rather entertaining.  afterward, we rode so many different rides.  it has been years since we have been on carnival rides, so we felt like kids again spinning around and around on the tilt-a-whirl until we were dizzy and could not stop laughing.

of course, you can never go wrong with county fair food too.  we forgot about our diets for one night and shared a gyro and a corn dog.  it was the perfect summer date night!

love, laurie

I'm jealous! I've been wanting to go to a good county fair all summer, but haven't had the chance to yet. Looks like fun!

This sounds like so much fun! Wish there was one near me. I would love to go on a ferris wheel and eat fair food! :)
