2015: our year in review

here it is: our annual year-in-review post!  i really enjoy putting these massive posts together every year because it is such a nice way to reflect back on the year.  looking back over the past year, it's hard to believe that so much has happened in the last twelve months.  here are a few highlights from our 2015 . . .

in january, we rang in the new year with our families.  we celebrated my 30th birthday with a party and we continued celebrating all week long.  i shared some thoughts on turning 30.  we celebrated three years with leko and we took a winter walk along the nearby river.  we went bowling and we toured steamtown national historic site too.

in february, we had a little super bowl party at home for ourselves.  we got a huge snow storm and got the day off work!  we celebrated a cold and snowy valentine's day at home with dinner and a movie.  i got a much needed haircut too.


in march, we celebrated ryan's mom's birthday and we got more snow even though it was spring!  we were crazy busy all month working on the various shows that were happening in the theaters too.

in april, we celebrated easter with our families and i was summoned for jury duty.  the weather warmed up and it finally started to feel like spring and crocuses popped up in our yard.  ryan's cousin aaron got married, and we both were promoted to new jobs.  we went to nyc to see the radio city new york spring spectacular show, and we admired the spring flowers in bryant park.  we planted some flowers with leko's help for our new offices too.


in may, we enjoyed seeing the daffodils blooming in our yard.  we took a cruise aboard the norwegian breakaway from nyc to bermuda.  we celebrated mother's day with our families, and we officially kicked off the summer season by spending memorial day weekend with our families too.



in june, we enjoyed lots of biking outside in the beautiful summer weather.  i performed in my dance studio's annual dance recital.  we celebrated father's day with our families.  we took a trip to north carolina with my mom to visit family friends in surf city on topsail island.  i also took a quick trip to oklahoma to attend a conference for work.


in july, we celebrated the fourth of july with family.  we went berry picking at a local farm and came home with a ton of strawberries, red raspberries, and black raspberries.  we enjoyed fresh produce from our local farmers market and we visited ryan's family when they were in town from north carolina.

in august, we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary by going to nyc to see a broadway show.  we walked across the brooklyn bridge, spent time in brooklyn, biked around central park, and made a little video of our trip too.  we toured nemours mansion and gardens in delaware with my parents,  we went blueberry picking, and went to the county fair too.  ryan turned 31 and we celebrated by taking a boat tour of lake wallenpaupack and with a birthday party with our families.  we went to the harford fair, we rescued a kitten, and we hiked around nay aug park with my parents.

in september, we celebrated labor day weekend with our families and a lot of biking.  we made our annual trip to the italian festival to eat and watch the fireworks, and leko turned four years old.  we went apple picking and took our annual trip to roba family farms.  we went hiking and had a picnic at prompton state park and then made our annual trip to ritter's cider mill.


in october, we enjoyed autumn biking and we celebrated 4 years of blogging.  we took a trip to quiet valley living historical farm (here and here).  i shared five lessons learned from my high school job too.  we traveled to las vegas for a work conference that i had to attend and while we were there we rode the high roller observation wheel, went to the top of the eiffel tower at the paris hotel, visited a bunch of different attractions, and ate a ton of food!  we saw the book of mormon musical tour, and we celebrated halloween at our house by passing out candy to 179 trick-or-treaters too!




in november, we celebrated my dad's 65th birthday and cleaned up a lot of the fall leaves.  we took a trip to nyc where i had a private fitting at the gaynor minden boutique and got a new pair of pointe shoes.  we celebrated thanksgiving with our families too.

in december, we sent out our christmas cards and attended the annual christmas tree lighting ceremony at work.  we celebrated my mom's birthday and saw a living nativity scene at ryan's parents' church too.  we stepped back in time with a historic christmas tour of an old farm.  i performed a jazz number and a ballet number in my dance studio's annual christmas show.  we drove around to admire the christmas lights in our area too.  we finished out the year with a lovely christmas eve and christmas day with our families!
